DOODLE 4 GOOGLE

Google presents: Doodle 4 Google contest!!

Participation is easy!

This year we’re asking K-12 students to create their doodles based on the theme “If I Could Invent One Thing to Make the World a Better Place...
This year the competition will be a class project and grade! The application form that needs to be signed will be going home with students today!  In class students will doodle their version of the Google logo based off this year's theme and turn it in. I will submit the entire class' entries into google. Parent permission is required to submit the work to Google. Please fill out the permission slip and return it before the submissions are sent out: MARCH 14th (day before spring break!)

Judging Criteria

Doodles will be judged based on the following three categories:
  • Artistic Merit: based on grade group and artistic skill.
  • Creativity: based on the representation of the theme and use of the Google logo.
  • Theme Communication: How clearly the competition theme is expressed in both the artwork and the written statement.

 Prizes 

One (1) National Winner

The National Winner will have his or her doodle featured on the U.S. Google.com homepage. He or she will be awarded a $30,000 college scholarship to be used at a school of his or her choice, a trip to the Google Headquarters in California for the final awards ceremony on May 21st, 2014, a Google Chromebook computer, an Android tablet, and a t-shirt printed with his or her doodle on it. We’ll also award the winner’s full-time school with a $50,000 Google for Education grant towards the establishment/improvement of a computer lab or technology program with Chromebooks for Education and/or tablets with Google Play for Education
Four (4) National Finalists
Each of the other four National Finalists will win a $5,000 college scholarship to be used at the school of their choice, a trip to the Google Headquarters in California for the final awards ceremony on May 21st, 2014, an Android tablet, and a t-shirt printed with his or her doodle on it.
Fifty (50) State Winners
Each of the other 50 State Winners will win a trip to the Google Headquarters in California for the final awards ceremony on May 21st, 2014, an Android tablet, and a t-shirt printed with his or her doodle on it.
Two Hundred and Fifty (250) State Finalists
Each of the other State Finalists will receive an official winner’s certificate and their Doodles will be featured on the Doodle 4 Google website.

Monoprinting Highlights

Monoprinting has come to a close! What a great success!! We have several students who will be submitting their prints into the Duval County Middle School Art Show! Here are a few highlights from the project, the students really loved to monoprint!
